KESS and Poseidon Energy Company have signed an agency agreement

The well-known European ro-ro carrier KESS (K-Line European Sea Highway Services, Gmbh) and the TEK Poseidon group of companies have signed an agency agreement, according to which, as of November 1, 2016, the functions of KESS’s commercial agent in the Republic of Belarus are transferred to the control of Poseidon Shipping.

“By nominating Poseidon as a commercial agent, we are taking further steps to expand our activities in Belarus, which highlights the importance of this market for our business. Together with our new partner, we intend to develop our sales and expand our presence, while continuing to work with our existing customers,” said Torsten Wendt, Managing Director of KESS Gmbh.

KESS was founded in 2003 as a result of the acquisition of the remaining 50 percent of E.H.Harms Car Feeder Service Gmbh, a joint venture established in 1991.

Currently, KESS is one of the leading intra-European line ro-ro carriers.

The company is registered in Germany, and its central office is located in Bremen. The company’s fleet consists of 11 modern vessels with a total capacity of over 10,000 CEU (car equivalent unit), which allow for the transportation of passenger cars, large-sized wheeled and tracked vehicles, as well as roll-trailer cargo.

The company regularly visits 14 ports in the North and Baltic Seas. The most important ports in Northern Europe for cargo passing through the port of Saint Petersburg are Bremerhaven (Germany) and Zeebrugge (Belgium).
